1. Who we are and what this site is
ServSafePractice.com is an independent study website. It publishes practice questions, explanations and study material for people preparing to sit ServSafe certification exams.
In these terms, "we" and "us" mean the team that runs ServSafePractice.com, and "the site" means servsafepractice.com and everything published on it.
We are not ServSafe. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to ServSafe, the National Restaurant Association, or the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. ServSafe is a registered trademark of the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation, used here only to describe which exams our material prepares people for.
We cannot register you for an exam, access your official account, proctor anything, issue a certificate, or look up your results. Anything to do with the real exam goes to ServSafe directly.
By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, do not use the site.
2. What you get when you buy a test
Buying a practice test gives you a personal, non-transferable right to use that test for your own study.
- It does not expire. A test you have bought stays available on your account.
- Retakes are unlimited. There is no cap on how many times you can sit a test you own.
- It is for one person. Your account is yours. Sharing login details, or buying one copy for a class or a team to share, is not permitted. If you need access for a group, write to us and we will work something out properly.
Free practice tests are open to everyone and need no account. They are provided as they are, and we may change or withdraw them.
3. Your account
You need an account to take a paid test, because access attaches to it.
- Give an email address you can actually reach. Receipts, sign-in codes and score summaries all go there, and access is tied to the address used at checkout.
- Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
- One account per person. Do not create accounts for other people or under a name that is not yours.
- If you think someone else has access to your account, tell us at [email protected].
4. Payment
Payments are handled by PayPal and by Razorpay, which processes card payments. We do not receive or store your card number, CVV, or bank details at any point. Those go directly to the payment provider.
The price shown at checkout is the price charged. Prices can change, but a change never affects something you have already bought.
5. Refunds
You can request a refund within 7 days of purchase. You do not have to give a reason.
Refunds go back to the same card or PayPal account you paid with. How quickly the money appears is determined by your bank or PayPal rather than by us.
Access to the test ends when the refund is processed. Use the refund request form, which collects the transaction details needed to match your payment.
6. How the site may and may not be used
Use the site to study. The following are not permitted:
- Copying, republishing, or redistributing our questions, explanations or study material, whether free or paid, in whole or in substantial part.
- Reselling access, or providing our material as part of another product, course or service.
- Scraping, crawling, bulk-downloading, or using automated tools to extract content.
- Attempting to get at paid content without paying for it, or interfering with how access controls work.
- Attempting to disrupt the site, probe it for weaknesses, or overload it.
Free tests being free does not make their content free to reuse. It means you can study with them without paying.
7. Who owns what
The questions, explanations, study guides, page copy, design and code on this site are ours, or used with permission. Buying a test buys you the right to study with it, not ownership of it.
ServSafe, the National Restaurant Association and other names and marks referred to on the site belong to their respective owners. We use them descriptively.
If you believe material of yours appears here without authorisation, send a notice through the copyright and DMCA page, which sets out what a complete notice needs to contain.
8. Accuracy, and what practice scores do not mean
We work hard on accuracy, source our material from official standards, and correct errors when they are reported. We do not claim to be perfect, and we say so plainly: if you find something wrong, the correction form is how it gets fixed.
A practice score is not a prediction. Passing our tests does not mean you will pass the official exam, and failing them does not mean you will not. Our questions are written to match the published exam structure; they are not the exam, and no independent site has access to live exam content.
We also cannot tell you which certificate your state, county or employer requires, or whether a particular certificate will be accepted. Those requirements are set by others and they change. Confirm with whoever told you to get certified.
9. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the site running but cannot promise it will always be available or uninterrupted. Maintenance, hosting problems and events outside our control all happen.
Content changes. Questions get corrected, tests get revised, and material gets added or retired as exam standards are updated. We may change or remove free content at any time.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account that is being used in breach of these terms, in particular where content is being redistributed or access is being shared or resold.
Where an account is closed for a breach, we are not obliged to refund. Where we close an account for any other reason, we will refund what is fair for anything you paid for and can no longer use.
You can ask us to close your account at any time through the personal data request form.
11. Limits on our responsibility
The site is provided for study. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including exam results, lost earnings, or a certification decision made by someone else.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
12. If something goes wrong between us
Raise it with us first. Most disagreements are about a payment, an access problem or a question we got wrong, and all three are quicker to settle directly than through any formal route. Email [email protected], or use the formal grievance form if you want it recorded as a complaint from the start.
If a dispute is about a payment, your card issuer or PayPal has its own dispute process. It is independent of ours, and nothing in these terms affects your right to use it.
Nothing here removes consumer protections you have under the law where you live. Where those rights conflict with something in these terms, your rights come first.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated version.
Where a change materially affects something you have already bought, it does not apply retroactively to that purchase.
Privacy14. What we collect
Only what the site needs to work. There is no data collection here that exists to be sold or traded, because we do not sell or trade personal information at all.

We do not receive or store card numbers, CVVs or bank account details. Those never reach our systems.
15. Why we use it
- To give you what you paid for. Access control, your account, your attempt history and your receipts all depend on it.
- To answer you. Form submissions are read and acted on, and kept so a later message about the same issue makes sense.
- To improve the material. Aggregate patterns in scores show which questions are unclear or which explanations are not working. This looks at questions, not at people.
- To keep the site working and secure. Detecting abuse, spam and attempts to break access controls.
- To meet legal obligations. Transaction records in particular.
We do not use your study activity to profile you, and we do not make automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.
16. Cookies and similar technologies
- Necessary. Keeping you signed in, holding your place in a test in progress, and protecting forms from automated abuse. The site does not work without these.
- Analytics. Understanding which pages are used and how people move through the site. Our own first-party measurement counts a session rather than storing your IP address.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser. Blocking the necessary ones will break sign-in and stop tests from saving your progress.
17. Who else sees it
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We use service providers to run the site, and they only handle what their function requires:

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim. If the business is ever transferred to someone else, personal information may transfer with it, subject to this policy.
18. How long we keep it
- Account, purchases and study activity: for as long as your account exists. Because access does not expire, this is what keeps a test you bought available to you years later.
- Transaction records: kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require, even after an account is deleted.
- Form submissions: kept while the matter is open and for a period afterwards, so that a follow-up makes sense.
- Technical, usage and email delivery logs: pruned automatically on a rolling basis rather than retained indefinitely.
19. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to withdraw consent for optional email, or to object to certain uses.
Use the personal data request form. Every request is verified against the email address it concerns before anything is acted on, which is what stops someone else asking for your data. Verification is done through the address itself, so we never ask for identity documents.
Deletion has a consequence. Your account, attempt history and purchase records go together. Access to anything you paid for is tied to those records, so deleting your data ends that access, and deletion is not a refund. If you want your money back as well, send the refund request first.
You also have the right to complain to the data protection authority where you live.
20. Children and young people
The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, tell us and we will remove it.
Some food handler roles are open to people under 18, and young people do legitimately study for these exams. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should agree to these terms before you buy anything.
21. Security
Passwords are stored in an encrypted form we cannot reverse. Payment details never reach our systems. The site is served over an encrypted connection and sits behind protection against automated attack.
No system is perfectly secure, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. What we can say is that the information most worth stealing, your payment details, is not held here to be stolen.
22. Where your information is handled
The site is used from all over the world, and the services it runs on operate internationally. Your information may therefore be processed in a country other than the one you live in.
Where information moves between countries, we rely on the transfer safeguards our service providers have in place. The providers we use are named in section 17.
